Entry 2-Journey to Freedom

Journey to Freedom written by Gilbert Morris is probably close to my favorite book! It is SO good!! :)

The Brown Rats are invading! Which spells trouble for the White-feet Mice colony. They have been living at peace, with the Royal Family ruling over, and now they don't know what to do. The Maker does though, and He has a plan. His plan includes a very ordinary mouse named Chip. Chip and his friends, which include other white-feet and a mole, call themselves the "Rag-Tags". The "Rag-Tags" along with the rest of the white-feet colony go to war against the Brown Rats and their chief the Dread Deliverer. Though, War isn't enough to keep the Dread Delivier and his horde from taking over! The White-feet have to do something they have never thought about doing before--flee to the West! It will take a lot of courage and trust in their Maker during their journey, and a lot of things will happen, but Chip knows that the Maker will keep his promises and lead them to the West.

This is such a great book with so much symbolism from the Bible! Published by the Christian book Company, Crossway Books, it talks about salvation and faith in a really neat way! I recommend this book to children 8 and up. It would be a great book for the whole family!
Until next time,

Entry 1-Doll People

The Doll People written by Ann M. Martin & Laura Godwin is one of my favorite books!

Annabelle Doll, an 8 year old porcelain doll, has lived with her family in their doll house for over 100 years. The ones in her family are: Papa Doll, Mama Doll, Bobby Doll, Baby Betsy, Nanny Doll, Uncle Doll, and one Doll in her family has been missing for over 45 years--Auntie Sarah. Annabelle doesn't have any clue to where Auntie Sarah is, until she finds Auntie Sarah's journal one day in the dollhouse library. Could it possibly have a clue to where she is or...was? Annabelle discovers while reading the journal that her aunt liked to go exploring in the house. Annabelle convinces her family, to search for Auntie Sarah through the house, where the people live. During an exploration Annabelle discovers another Doll Family, the Funcrafts who are not porcelain but plastic. Despite their differences, the Dolls and the Funcrafts start to become friends, and together they try to solve the mystery of Auntie Sarah's dissapearance.

This book is written so well, and the illustrations are fantastic! I would recommend this book to both girls and boys 9 and up. It would also be a great book to read as a family! :)
